KBF is currently seeking Tax Interns to join our Lake Oswego, Irvine, or San Diego offices for a summer 2027 internship.


Our internship program is designed for students entering their senior year or enrolled in an accounting-related master’s program. This is a full-time internship, ideal for students seeking hands-on experience in tax services. The internship typically runs from mid-June through early August.


We’re looking for exceptional students (like you!) who bring both strong technical skills and a commitment to excellence. As a valued member of our team, you’ll collaborate with experienced professionals to support and complete tax engagements and projects.


Throughout the KBF internship, you will: 

  • Leverage the knowledge gained during your college career to contribute meaningfully to our projects.
  • Enhance your skillset and gain practical experience by working alongside our engagement teams.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the accounting industry dynamics, helping you refine your career path and make informed decisions about your future in public accounting.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform tax-related tasks, including compliance, advising and planning for a variety of clients in different industries, multistate and/or multinational enterprises including partnerships, corporations and S-corporations
  • Proactively manage projects to ensure delivery of work products based on client expectations and statutory deadlines
  • Openly communicate with partners, managers, and teams about the status, timeline, issues, and progress of projects, tasks, and associated budgets
  • Learn to develop and manage client relationships


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Ability to work from KBF’s Lake Oswego, Irvine, or San Diego office a minimum of 2 days per week
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule from June through early August 2027
    • Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm
    • Please note: We are unable accommodate class schedules during this internship.
  • Must be on track to graduate with an accounting focused bachelor’s and/or master’s degree (and have CPA eligibility) no earlier than December 2027 and no later than August 2028
  • Minimum 3.2 overall GPA preferred
  • Strong ambition to become a Certified Public Accountant and a desire to pursue a career in Tax
  • Motivated, quick learner with excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Eligible to work in the U.S

The hourly range for this position reflects various factors that influence compensation decisions, including skills, experience, training, certifications, licensure, and geographic location. The estimated hourly rate for California applicants is $41.83 per hour.
