This is a paid internship with full-time hours during Summer 2027. This is an office position based in our Chicago, Illinois office.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Preparing structural design calculations, plans and contract documents in accordance with applicable design and agency standards
- Development of bridge plans using MicroStation
- Performs basic calculations to analyze and design structural components using industry standard software
- Assist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Interest in bridge and structural engineering within the transportation industry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills
- Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil design
Education and Experience
- Education: Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree or master’s degree engineering program #Student
- Previous experience in Microsoft products such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with Bentley MicroStation/Open Roads Designer is a plus
Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time.
