You’ll contribute to active engineering work, collaborate with experienced developers and tackle problems that ask you to think beyond the obvious answer.

We’re looking for engineers who are curious about what’s possible, learn new technologies quickly, enjoy solving complex problems and want to experiment with how AI can improve products and experiences. You’ll have the opportunity to write code, test ideas and learn what it takes to turn promising concepts into useful technology.

What You’ll Do

During your internship, you will:

  • Build and enhance customer-facing applications across the front end and back end using technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Python, databases and SQL
  • Contribute to products and experiences that help Gallup acquire new customers, engage existing customers and connect people with Gallup’s solutions
  • Explore how AI and emerging technologies can create smarter, more personalized experiences based on users’ needs and interactions
  • Turn promising ideas into proofs of concept, experimenting quickly to determine what works and where new technology can create value
  • Tackle engineering challenges by evaluating options, developing practical solutions and improving your work through testing and iteration
  • Collaborate with engineers and other partners to design, build, test and improve high-quality software

What You Need

  • Enrollment in an associate, bachelor’s or graduate degree program in computer science, MIS or a related field required
  • Classroom, project, internship or work experience coding in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Python, SQL or another development language required
  • Aptitude in programming analysis, design and creative problem-solving required
  • Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, with an interest in experimenting with new tools and applying them to engineering challenges preferred
  • Enrollment at a college or university within an 80-mile radius of San Francisco, California, required
  • Anticipated graduation between August 2027 and May 2028 preferred; will consider 2029 graduates
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks during the summer of 2027 required
  • A commitment to working on-site at Gallup’s San Francisco office Monday through Thursday required, with the option to work remotely on Friday
  • Eligibility to work in the United States required; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship

What We Offer

  • A full-time summer 2027 internship that pays $45 to $50 per hour
  • The potential to work up to 20 hours per week during the school year, depending on business demands
  • The potential for a full-time job offer upon graduation, based on Gallup’s business needs and intern performance
