- Partner with software engineers and your mentor on a summer project that contributes to the applications, services, and tools behind DeltaV.
- Design, write, and test code for new features or improvements, from initial idea through working software.
- Explore how emerging technologies, potentially including AI/ML techniques, can be applied to real product and engineering problems.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging, and learn how professional teams keep software release-ready.
- Take part in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and retrospectives, along with Hackathons, Tech Talks, and Communities of Practice.
- Document what you build so the team can maintain and extend your work after your internship ends, and present your results to the team at the end of the summer.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university and returning to school following the internship.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Coursework or project experience in at least one programming language (such as C#, Java, Python, C/C++, or JavaScript).
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
- Junior or Senior standing.
- Experience with C# or another object-oriented language, and comfort working in an IDE such as Visual Studio or VS Code.
- Familiarity with Git or another source control system.
- Exposure to application development concepts such as .NET, web or desktop UI frameworks, REST APIs, or relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with Python, including data or machine learning libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Coursework or personal projects involving AI/ML, data analysis, or working with large language model APIs.
- Interest in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) or containers (Docker, Kubernetes). Coursework or personal projects count.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
- Previous internship, class project, hackathon, or personal project experience in software development.
