Wellington Management is seeking motivated undergraduate students to join our 2027 Technology Summer Internship Program. This 10-week paid internship provides hands-on software engineering experience, mentorship, and exposure to the investment management industry and the technologies that support it.
Technology plays a critical role in enabling Wellington's investment, business, and client teams. Our technologist's partner with teams across the firm to build innovative solutions, improve decision-making, and support the needs of a global investment organization.
Interns will work full-time (40 hours/week) at our Boston headquarters beginning June 2027. Interns are eligible for a housing stipend and a flexible work model that includes four days per week in the office and one remote workday.
Designed for students from a variety of academic backgrounds, this program is intended for candidates with prior experience in software engineering, data analysis, computer science, information systems, or a related technical field who want to apply those skills to building practical technology solutions. Interns will have the opportunity to explore career paths in Wellington’s technology organization and do meaningful work alongside experienced professionals.
What You'll Do
As a summer intern, you will work alongside a cohort of fellow interns on a summer-long project focused on building a software solution that addresses a real business challenge at Wellington. Working as part of a project team, you'll gain hands-on experience in software engineering, data analysis, and product-oriented problem solving while developing technical, professional, and leadership skills.
Summer Project Experience
Collaborate with fellow interns to identify, design, build, test and deliver a software application that addresses a real business challenge facing Wellington.
Analyze user needs, gather feedback, and apply creative problem-solving to develop solutions that drive meaningful business impact.
Gain hands-on experience applying software engineering and data analysis skills, including requirements gathering, application design, coding, testing, user feedback, and iterative delivery.
Take ownership of a key project workstream while partnering closely with teammates and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
Build relationships across the firm through networking, collaboration, and engagement with business and technology professionals.
Present project outcomes, recommendations, and lessons learned to senior leaders at the conclusion of the program.
Work on challenges that evolve each year to reflect changing business priorities, emerging technologies, and opportunities for innovation.

Who Should Apply
We welcome students from a broad range of majors, backgrounds, experiences, and academic disciplines. Candidates should have experience applying technical skills through coursework, internships, research, independent projects, or other hands-on work in software engineering, data analysis, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
We look for:
Current sophomore or junior undergraduate students pursuing a bachelor's degree.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with software engineering, data analysis, or a related technical field, including familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python.
Involvement in campus organizations, leadership activities, volunteer work, or other extracurricular experiences.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
No prior finance experience is required.
Curious and adaptable in exploring emerging technologies and AI tools in your work, school, and projects

At Wellington Management, our approach to compensation is designed to help us attract, inspire and retain the best talent in our industry. Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
$19-$35 per hourThis range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
