POSITION SUMMARY
The focus of this internship is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the daily operations within the Agtegra grain division. Interns will work closely with the location manager and/or grain supervisor to learn how to grade and blend grain, as well as load trains and trucks. They will gain hands-on experience with the day-to-day functions of the grain elevator and develop insight into the operational processes that keep the facility running smoothly. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to learn about the broader business aspects of the grain industry, including basic economics and management practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform critical operations to keep the facility running: Loading/unloading trucks and railcars, other grain handling including, filling/reclaiming of ground piles, transferring, blending, and more.
- Maintain the housekeeping of the facility including: elevator, buildings, and grounds.
- Monitor equipment to ensure proper functioning, actively participate in the maintenance of the facility and equipment, and learn to identify and report any necessary repairs or potential equipment issues to management.
- Learn about grain origination and the broader business aspects of the grain industry, as well as gaining insight into basic economics and management practices.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through courteous, helpful, and informed interactions with our patrons.
- Adheres to all safety regulations, requirements, policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations, the vehicle policy and fleet safety program, and DOT regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Enrollment towards relevant agriculture, operations or management degree.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- English proficiency.
- Valid Driver's License.
