Agtegra Cooperative is seeking Grain Marketing Interns to join our team in Aberdeen, SD for the summer of 2027.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position offers real-world experience by allowing interns to learn and assist in many of the grain department’s commercial activities. These include the company’s grain marketing and origination efforts. Grain Marketing interns will assist in grain origination, grain hedging, and preparation of facility volume and revenue forecasts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Gain hands-on experience with the company’s risk management practices, including managing the hedge desk operations.
  • Work closely with Agtegra grain originators and farmers to assist with grain origination and support various marketing initiatives.
  • Manage yield survey data and assist in compiling revenue models used for forecasting and budgeting.
  • Take part in the calibration of wheat protein samplers ahead of the wheat harvest season.
  • Tour company’s market region to determine overall crop size and quality.
  • Monitor multiple market information sources, analyze relevant data, and distribute insights to Agtegra employees and patrons.
  • Maintain regular communication with location personnel through phone and email, and travel to locations as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend efficiency enhancements.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations, requirements, policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations, the vehicle policy and fleet safety program, and DOT regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Enrollment towards appropriate business, marketing, or sales degree.  Enrollment in an agriculture program is preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. 
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • English proficiency. 
  • Valid Driver's License.
