Graduate School Opportunity

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to pursue graduate studies at Batten University in one of several programs, including:

  • MBA
  • Applied Psychology
  • Human Services
  • Arts Leadership & Nonprofit Management
  • Education / Teacher Leadership — for candidates who meet program eligibility requirements

Coaching Responsibilities

The Assistant Coach will assist with all aspects of the men's lacrosse program, including:

  • Recruiting and evaluating prospective student-athletes
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with recruits, families, and high school/club coaches
  • Player development and position-specific instruction
  • Faceoff development and instruction
  • Practice planning and implementation
  • Game preparation and game-day responsibilities
  • Film breakdown and scouting
  • Assisting with offensive and defensive game planning
  • Academic and personal development of student-athletes
  • Team operations and administrative responsibilities
  • Camp and prospect day organization and instruction
  • Community engagement and program promotion
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a motivated coach with a strong understanding of lacrosse and a passion for developing student-athletes and building a successful collegiate program.

Faceoff experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with experience as a faceoff specialist, faceoff coach, or in developing faceoff players are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a strong understanding of the game of lacrosse
  • Have collegiate, high school, club, or significant playing/coaching experience
  • Have faceoff experience or expertise
  • Be passionate about recruiting and player development
  • Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills
  • Be willing to take ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Be committed to the academic and personal development of student-athletes
  • Be interested in pursuing a graduate degree while building a career in college athletics

Level of coaching experience is flexible. Recent college graduates, former collegiate players looking to begin a coaching career, and coaches with existing college, high school, or club experience are encouraged to apply.
