About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical and instrumentation equipment.

  • Apply technical skills learned through coursework, the E&I Maintenance Technician progression program, seminars, and supervised on-the-job training.

  • Follow Safe Work Permits, work orders, drawings, manuals, and engineering specifications.

  • Keep the Foreman informed of work status, unusual conditions, scope changes, barriers, and job completion.

  • Verify equipment identification, document accurate work history, and record time promptly and legibly.

  • Read and follow written instructions, communicate effectively during shift handoffs, and maintain a clean work area using 5S practices.

  • Obtain and maintain authorization to operate a manlift and forklift.

  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator and Level A suit when assigned.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all Orangeburg Plant safety policies, procedures, and training requirements.

  • Understand applicable requirements for hazardous-waste handling and shipping, including RCRA, DOT, and emergency procedures.

  • Meet position-specific qualification and training requirements, including those identified under 40 CFR 265.

  • Complete required monthly computer-based training.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled full time in an undergraduate Electronics Engineering Technology program.

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
