Labcorp is seeking a Molecular-Micro Infectious Disease Intern to join our Research & Development Team located in Burlington, NC!


Work Schedule:
Days/ Hours: Monday-Friday / 40hrs per week

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs technical and non-technical protocols in an entry level capacity according to established procedures.
  • Gains knowledge of department specific procedures and operations and work in cross functional teams.
  • Generate reliable and consistent results, including analyses, and maintain an accurate and comprehensible experimental notebook.
  • Operates general lab equipment and instruments in order to perform assigned duties.
  • Maintains adequate stock of working supplies, notifies supervisor of shortage.
  • Perform minor instrument troubleshooting and report any irregularities in operation to supervisor
  • Adheres to lab policies and protocols, safety policies and protocols, and quality control policies and protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or Biotechnology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6-12 months experience in a clinical lab, or relevant lab experience
  • 6-12 months experience using literature/search engines/databases for research

Additional Job Standards:

  • This position works under direct supervision. Work is normally reviewed by more experienced member(s) of the department.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues
  • Shows a high level of respect for all lab personnel, Supervisors and Directors.
  • Shows willingness to perform duties until they are complete.
  • Attend training sessions to learn process development.

Internship Details:

  • Duration: 11 weeks, full-time
  • Dates of Internship: June 1, 2027-August 13, 2027
  • Compensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
  • Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
