What can you expect in this role?
You will be responsible for turning data into meaningful insights and reporting. The key will be understanding the claims data and report the trends using visualization tools. This opportunity will place you at the forefront of leveraging data visualization tools and strategize the transformation of data into insights within Definity Claims Team.
Your Responsibilities
As a Catastrophe Claims Co-op, you will play a key role in supporting the Catastrophe (CAT) Claims team during weather and large-scale loss events. Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and assigning claims to CAT team members based on established processes
- Maintaining and managing claim tracking spreadsheets and reports
- Preparing and sending documentation and forms to Underwriting partners
- Drafting and distributing correspondence and customer letters on behalf of the CAT team
- Monitoring and managing the CAT team mailbox, ensuring inquiries are directed appropriately and addressed in a timely manner
- Creating PowerPoint presentations and other supporting materials for team meetings, CAT events, and appraisal-related initiatives
- Assisting with data entry, reporting, and administrative tasks to support claim operations
- Supporting process improvement initiatives and helping the team maintain accurate records during high-volume catastrophe events
What do you bring to the role?
- Currently enrolled in a College or University program, preferably in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, Communications, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong customer-service mindset

This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.
The hourly compensation for the role starts at $22.50 per hour and will increase based on factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, and the recommended rates as set by the respective educational institution.
