Job Description
As a Technical Sales Co-op as part of Perception team at OTTO by Rockwell Automation, you will gain exposure to advanced robotics systems and learn how to communicate complex technical concepts in accessible terms for a broad range of customers across industries.
You will work with experienced technical sales professionals who will mentor you in communicating and building customer relationships, and helping customers choose the solutions that best meet their goals.
You will work a full-time, hybrid schedule in our Waterloo, Ontario office: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays in-office.
We ask that you have a minimum of 8 months (ideally 12 months) co-op availability.
Your Responsibilities:
Handle incoming customer inquiries by email, phone, and online channels
Help with customer correspondence, outreach campaigns, and follow-ups
Help process customer orders with accuracy and attention to detail
Provide customers with product information, pricing, and availability
Learn to resolve customer issues, escalating complex challenges to senior team members
Help maintain customer records in the internal databases
Collaborate with teams including engineering, product, and marketing to ensure customers receive accurate information.
Participate in broader sales operations projects and continuous improvement initiatives
The Essentials - You Will Have:
Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university
Legal authorization to work in Canada is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
8-12 month full-time, co-op availability
Within 50 miles or less from our Waterloo office
Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics engineering; computer science, business, technical majors or similar
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and customer-focused mindset
Experience learning advanced new technologies, especially robotics and automation
Understand and translate technical topics into layman's terms
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Familiarity with data management tools (Excel, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms)
Experience with or interest in robotics, automation, or industrial technology
Experience working in customer-facing or service-oriented environments
Basic analytical skills and comfort working with structured data
Technical curiosity and eagerness to dive into complex systems

This position is part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor for position level and compensation.
For this role, the Compensation is from $20/hour - $32/hour. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
