Collins Aerospace is looking for an Design Engineering Intern to support our Commercial Aviation Seating & Furniture Group. As an intern you will get the opportunity to work on real-world problems and develop engineering solutions that will support our customers worldwide. Daily responsibilities will include assisting in research, root-cause analysis, corrective action development, prototyping and documentation of engineering solutions. In doing so, you will have the opportunity to develop professional skills, learn to use advanced engineering tools, and experience what a career in the commercial aviation industry can offer.

What You Will Do:

  • Experience leading an engineering project from problem identification through deployment

  • Experience using engineering tools (Teamcenter, NX CAD, 3D printing, Jira, etc.) to solve real-world problems

  • General knowledge of the commercial aviation industry

  • Improve your technical problem solving and project management skills


What You Will Learn:

  • Learn how to apply your engineering skills to real-life problems

  • Hands on mechanic experience with commercial aircraft seating products

  • Learn how to design components in CAD to meet aerospace certification standards

  • Learn to write technical documentation to accomplish modifications to certified aircraft products

  • Develop the ability to present your work to a large audience at the management level

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Design Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

  • Experience with CAD and parametric solid modeling.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
