About the Role
MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking motivated students pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science to join our Corporate Applications team. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting business-critical initiatives and technology projects that power the energy industry. This temporary, nonexempt position offers part-time hours throughout the academic year, with the potential to continue into the summer. Interns will have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals, develop technical skills, and contribute to meaningful work that supports our customers and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software development and ensure conformance to IT standards at MidAmerican Energy. 

  • Participate in design discussions and planning for potential software solutions.

  • Test and document software solutions as they are developed and updated. 

  • Perform basic system analysis and design functions. 

  • Provide customer support for package software and associated interfaces. 

  • Provide technical input to assist in the development of project planning. 

  • Test, design and planning.

  • Create and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright.

  • Convert manual test cases into automated regression test.

  • Enhance and maintain automation framework.

  • Manage test data and environment configuration.

Qualifications

  • Must be a college student, sophomore, or higher standing, currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in computer science or related technical field.

  • Must be available to work September 2026 through the academic year.

  • Basic knowledge of programming in client/server and/or web development environments.

  • Basic knowledge of .NET development or other current computing programming languages.

  • Basic knowledge of database concepts including SQL queries.
