About the Role

Job Title:

Summer 2027 Intern- Intern in Adhesives and Sealants R&D Team

Summary:

Investigation of formulation and processing factors contributing to performance of novel adhesives containing functional fillers (electrostatic dissipative (ESD), and thermally conductive). Comparison with relevant benchmarks.

This will explore a novel formulation space where specific silicone copolymers and silanes could facilitate the processing of functional fillers and enhance the final performance relevant for the need of datacenters infrastructure (ie electrostatic dissipation of flooring adhesives etc...). The student project success will be measured by the quality of the execution and the student ability to adapt to industrial environment and mindset (agility).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare adhesives formulations using different processing methods (speedmixer, Ross mixer) and measure performance using mechanical testing, adhesion tests, resistivity, thermal conductivity, and suitable analytical techniques (microscopy etc...).

  • Conduct design of experiment under the guidance of mentor. Analyze the results, summarize the findings.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

Job Specific Minimum Qualifications

  • Solid education (undergraduate/graduate level) in Chemical Engineering or Material Science fields. Familiarity with bench work, and characterization of materials. Preferably familiarity with areas involving adhesion, nanomaterials.

Program Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.
