About the Role

Position Summary:

Chicago’s leading electrical contractor has an exciting opportunity available in Oak Brook! As a CECCo intern, you will support project teams, applying technical skills to assist in planning and executing electrical construction initiatives. Collaborate with professionals, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to the successful implementation of commercial electrical systems. This internship provides an opportunity to learn and make a positive impact on CECCo's projects and objectives.

What you’ll do:

  • Procurement Management:
    • Track estimated ship dates for long lead orders.
    • Follow up on back-ordered products.
  • Productivity Management:
    • Collaborate with the project manager on project labor tracking.
    • Update the tracker with current and projected labor data based on actual performance.
  • Submittal Management:
    • Gather and format product data for client review and approval.
  • QA/QC Assistance:
    • Ensure received and installed products meet design team specifications.
  • Labels and Identification:
    • Organize labels and identification for project elements.
  • Contract Management:
    • Maintain a log of contract value, changes, and potential changes.
  • Estimating Support:
    • Review and quantify scope on contract drawings.

 

What you’ll need for success:

  • Enrolled in a degree program in Construction Management, Electrical Construction, Design, Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
  • Some experience in construction and/or general business a plus, but not required.
  • Flexibility for travel to jobsites and client locations.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Strong task prioritization skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
