About the Role
Overview

Internship: Programme Intern

Location - Freetown, Sierra Leone. 

Contract - 15-month fixed-term contract 

Hours - 35 hours per week 


Sightsavers is looking for a Programme Intern to join our Sierra Leone Country Office in Freetown for a 15-month fixed-term contract.  This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is interested in gaining practical experience in international development, disability inclusion, programme coordination, monitoring and reporting, and partner engagement.


Responsibilities

Working under close guidance from programme colleagues, the intern will support routine programme administration, meeting coordination, documentation, data organisation, learning activities, partner communication and logistical arrangements. The role is designed as a structured learning placement, with supervision, feedback and agreed learning objectives throughout.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone with good written and spoken English, strong organisational skills, attention to detail, basic Microsoft Office skills and a genuine interest in development, disability inclusion, public health, education, social inclusion or community work. Prior INGO employment experience is not required, but willingness to learn, ask questions, apply feedback and work respectfully with colleagues, partners and communities is essential.
