About the Role

What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is looking for a summer 2027 intern for our Madison, WI office. This opportunity offers valuable hands-on experience in both technical and environmental business operations through a diverse range of client projects while giving you the chance to explore the beginnings of your own career path.

 

As an intern, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals on projects centered around various aspects of site inspections and site history review, geographic information systems (GIS), soil and groundwater investigation/remediation, brownfield redevelopment, site development, and other projects. You will typically work 40 hours per week and be based in our Madison office 5 days a week.

How you can make an impact

You will contribute to our projects by assisting SCS project teams with the following tasks:

  • Soil, groundwater, and vapor investigation/remediation sampling
  • Phase I Environmental Site Inspections
  • GIS Projects
  • Laboratory data management and review
  • Reporting and calculation preparation
  • Design assistance

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, soil science, environmental science, environmental or geological engineering and graduating by June 2029 required. Candidates going into senior year are preferred.
  • Must be willing to live in the Madison area for Summer 2027 (housing will not be provided).
  • ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.

Pay Range

USD $21.00 - USD $24.00 /Hr.
