General Responsibilities

  1. This is an Internship position. 
  2. Operate as a member of the Community Services team, providing services to clients in the areas of Homeless Prevention and Transitional and Rapid Rehousing programs. 
  3. Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.

Essential Functions

  1. Meet with individuals in the office and in community settings including home visits to provide case management to program participants.
  2. Assist with quality review processes.
  3. Ability to relate well to families and individuals in crisis situations.
  4. Must demonstrate fundamental communication and problem solving skills.
  5. Ability to work effectively with co-workers, other community agencies, and constructively with persons from all ethnic, racial, and social backgrounds.
  6. Conduct Homeless Prevention Assessments and related documentation for that program
  7. Provide Case Management for Transitional Housing and Rapid Rehousing clients, including service planning, social histories and other supportive services. 
  8. Learn office phone system including providing occasional coverage for reception absences. 
  9. Engage in research impacting client needs and compiling data reports.
  10. Conducts Landlord Engagement and works with prospective landlords for housing.

Requirements

  1. Enrollment in an approved college program is required for this position, BSW Students are preferred with preference in areas of Social Work and Human Services. All degrees must come from a regionally accredited educational institution which has U.S. Department of Education approval.
  2. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Teams.
  3. Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  4.  A valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation and proof of liability insurance is required.
