About the Role

Student Worker — Global Finance

Finance, EMEA & APJ · Aalborg · 10–15 hours per week

Are you a finance or business student who wants to see how accounting actually works inside a fast-scaling technology company — not just in theory?

The EMEA & APJ Accounting team within Global Finance owns accounts receivable and accounts payable — from an incoming customer payment or a vendor invoice, all the way through to how it is reflected in our financial statements. Along the way, you’ll get a clear picture of what a month-end close involves and why the timing of it matters.

We operate across multiple entities, currencies, and contract structures — connecting two million machines in the construction industry to the numbers that account for them. Our job is to make sure those numbers tell the truth, and to fix the processes that make them lie.

Trackunit has grown from 150 to 450 people since 2020. The problems we work on have grown with us — and so have the opportunities for the people inside the function.

What you'll work on

Your week is a mix of the accounting work that runs every month and whatever the close throws at us:

  • Bank reconciliation. Matching payments and transactions across entities and currencies, and chasing down whatever doesn’t add up.

  • Vendor verification. Calling vendors to confirm their bank details before payments go out. It sounds like a small task — it is one of the most effective fraud controls we have.

  • Month-end close. Supporting reconciliations and accruals, and helping the team get the books closed on time.

  • Preparing material. Pulling numbers into the schedules, overviews, and documentation that the team, management, and our auditors rely on.

  • Ad hoc from the team. The tasks that come with working in a finance function that is still being built — no two months look quite the same.

Some of it is routine, and we won’t pretend otherwise. But you’ll see the same transactions and the same processes month after month, and that is exactly how you learn to spot where they break: a reconciliation that never balances the same way twice, a manual step that made sense at 150 people and doesn’t at 450. When you notice something, we want to hear it — and where it makes sense, we’d rather you help fix it than just flag it. That is the point where the work stops being data entry and starts being finance.

What you'll gain

You’ll join a small, senior team — close enough that your work is visible from day one, structured enough that you’ll have real guidance when you need it. The exposure is genuine: live numbers, real consequences, and direct access to the Finance Manager for EMEA & APJ. You’ll learn how a close actually comes together, how to explain a number to someone outside finance, and how to build analytical habits that transfer to any finance role. You’ll work in the tools the industry uses — NetSuite, Asana, Excel, and Claude — and you’ll use AI as part of the work rather than alongside it. That combination of domain knowledge, rigour, and AI-augmented practice is what this team runs on, and what you’ll take with you.

Practicalities

Location: Aalborg — we’d like you in the office when that works alongside your studies. Time commitment is 10–15 hours per week, planned around your academic calendar, exam periods included. We’re looking for students mid-way through a bachelor’s or early in a master’s.

Who you are

You’re the kind of person who, when given an answer, wonders whether the right question was asked. When something feels off, you follow the thread rather than rationalise it. You’ve probably always been this way: the one who asks the second question, who notices the assumption buried in the argument.

We can teach the tools. We’re looking for people who know how to think, finish what they start, and don’t mind picking up the phone to a stranger.

What you bring

  • You’re currently studying toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree. A background in business, economics, finance, law, or a related field is a natural fit — but if you’re studying something else and have built relevant experience in finance or analytical work, we’re interested in that too.

  • You’re comfortable in Excel and curious about how systems and data connect to financial outcomes.

  • You’re accurate with detail and you finish what you start — in accounting, an almost-finished reconciliation is an unfinished one.

· You can communicate in English, written and spoken. Comfort with AI tools — we use Claude day to day — is an advantage, not a condition.
