About the Role
 
CC&L Financial Group is seeking an Intern to join Corporate Actions Team for an 8-Month term (January – August 2027), with a potential for extension up to 12-Months.
 
A dynamic, fast-paced work environment where opportunities for learning and growth are abound. The Corporate Actions role serves as the key provider of accurate corporate action event information and ensures they are processed for all equity and fixed income portfolios at CC&L. You will have the ability to experience the life cycle of an event from announcement to reconciliation.

What You Will Do:

  • Gather and synthesize corporate actions information from multiple sources including Bloomberg, investor relations and custodian notifications.
  • Process corporate actions (ex. Mergers & acquisitions, stock dividends, rights issues, spin-offs, redemptions and mortgage-backed security pay-downs) so they are accurately reflected in the firm's portfolio accounting system within in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with custodians, portfolio managers, and key personnel across CC&L to investigate and resolve corporate action cash and holding discrepancies.
What You Bring:

This position is geared toward students either in their third/fourth year of an undergraduate degree with a focus on Business Administration, Finance, Sciences and/or Commerce. We are seeking ambitious students with a strong academic track record, who are interested in making an impact in process efficiencies at CC&L. In addition to the above, the successful candidate will have:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • A high level of self-motivation and strong work ethic
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Suite, especially Excel
  • An analytical mindset coupled with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 CDN annualized. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
