Responsibilities:

As part of MPLX, a midstream company majority owned by MPC, Logistics & Storage Engineering (L&SE) is an engineering service and project management organization comprised of engineering and other resources that primarily manage project work associated with Marathon Pipe Line (MPL), Terminals, and Marine organizations within MPLX.

L&SE Project Controls interns/co-ops partner with L&SE project engineers to support projects through all five phases of the Marathon Project Management Process (MPMP): conceptual, feasibility, definition, implementation, and close-out/start-up. Participants will gain hands-on experience with Project Controls standards, practices, and procedures. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining project schedules, including milestone tracking and resource planning
  • Performing cost control activities such as forecasting, accruals, and cost allocation
  • Monitoring key project metrics and performance indicators across a portfolio of projects
  • Preparing regular project status updates and reports for management

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Accounting, or Finance. Other Business majors may be considered.
  • Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree seeking program for the duration of the experience.
  • Strong academic performance.
  • Available to work on site 40 hours per week.
  • Valid driver's license for work-related travel.
  • Must be able to provide reliable transportation to and from place of work.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States with the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • MIN - $21.63 per hour / MAX - $37.00 per hour
