We are seeking a highly motivated Wet Process Engineering Intern to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This internship is intended for a Junior or Senior undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
The successful candidate will work closely with Wet Process, Equipment, Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering teams to identify and execute opportunities that improve factory productivity, equipment reliability, process stability, and manufacturing efficiency. The primary internship project will focus on Tool Alarm Reduction, Preventive Maintenance (PM) Optimization, or Yield Improvement, with specific project objectives determined based on 2Q27 business and manufacturing priorities.
This role provides hands-on exposure to semiconductor wet processing operations, equipment engineering, manufacturing systems, data analytics, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Responsibilities
Factory Operational Efficiency
- Support projects focused on reducing non-value-added activities and improving manufacturing productivity.
- Analyze equipment performance, utilization, downtime, and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain operational dashboards, KPIs, and performance tracking metrics.
- Monitor production performance and identify trends impacting factory output, cycle time, and tool availability.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives.
Tool Alarm Reduction, PM Optimization, & Yield Improvement
- Analyze equipment alarm history and identify recurring issues impacting factory performance.
- Support efforts to reduce nuisance alarms and improve tool reliability.
- Evaluate Preventive Maintenance (PM) effectiveness and identify opportunities to optimize maintenance intervals and procedures.
- Collect and analyze equipment and process data to improve tool uptime and operational performance.
- Participate in root cause investigations related to equipment excursions, process defects, or yield loss events.
- Support implementation and validation of corrective and preventive actions.
Wet Process Engineering Support
- Gain exposure to semiconductor wet processing operations, including cleaning, etching, stripping, and surface preparation processes.
- Support engineers in evaluating process performance and identifying efficiency improvement opportunities.
- Observe and participate in problem-solving efforts related to yield, defects, contamination control, and equipment performance.
- Present project updates and final recommendations to engineering and management teams.
Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing, equipment, and process performance data.
- Perform statistical analysis using Minitab, Excel, and other engineering tools.
- Generate reports and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and project outcomes.
- Support data-driven decision making through trend analysis and performance monitoring.
- Assist in implementing sustainable process and operational improvements.
Qualifications

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:
- Electrical Engineering (EE)
- Materials Science
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Chemical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Other related STEM disciplines
- Junior or Senior undergraduate standing preferred.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and visualization.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
