We are seeking a highly motivated Lithography Engineering Intern to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This internship is designed for a Junior or Senior undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
The successful candidate will work closely with Lithography Process Engineers, Equipment Engineers, Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering teams to identify and execute opportunities that improve factory productivity, reduce waste, increase equipment utilization, and streamline operational workflows. This role provides hands-on exposure to semiconductor photolithography processes, data analytics, manufacturing systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Responsibilities
Factory Operational Efficiency
- Support projects focused on reducing non-value-added activities and increasing manufacturing productivity.
- Assist in the development of operational dashboards, KPIs, and performance tracking metrics.
- Monitor production performance and identify trends impacting factory output and efficiency.
Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing and equipment performance data.
- Perform statistical analysis using minitab
- Generate reports and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and project outcomes.
- Participate in root cause investigations for process or operational excursions.
Lithography Process Support
- Gain exposure to semiconductor lithography processes, including photoresist coating, bake, develop, exposure, and metrology operations.
- Support engineers in evaluating process performance and identifying efficiency improvement opportunities.
- Assist with process qualifications, tool matching activities, and production readiness initiatives.
- Observe and participate in problem-solving efforts related to yield, defects, and equipment performance.
- Present project updates and final recommendations to engineering and management teams.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:
- Electrical Engineering (EE)
- Materials Science
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Chemical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Other related STEM disciplines
- Junior or Senior undergraduate standing preferred.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
