Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative Operations Intern eager to learn, contribute, and bring fresh ideas to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Continuous Improvement, and Data Analysis. In this hands-on role, you’ll support various operational tasks, data analysis, reporting, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives. Interns will collaborate with multiple departments, contribute to meaningful projects, and learn how processes and data support product delivery, operational efficiency, and business performance.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily operational tasks related to manufacturing throughput, material readiness, and production coordination
  • Collect, organize, and analyze operational data to improve visibility and support decision‑making.
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance metrics used by Operations leadership
  • Participate in meetings with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program teams to support planning and follow‑up actions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on workflow efficiency, process consistency, or data accuracy
  • Support documentation updates, standard work, and operational procedures to ensure alignment and clarity across teams

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in industrial engineering, supply chain, operations management or a related field
  • A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process
  • Completed at least 1 year of undergraduate studies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) 
  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma tools - Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5Y analysis etc.
  • Exposure to MRP concepts, forecasting methods or inventory management
  • Demonstrated leadership through an executive role in a club/organization/athletic team, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to manufacturing, operations, or supply chain concepts through coursework or prior internships
  • Basic understanding of process improvement or Lean methodologies
