Western National Insurance is seeking a Loss Control Intern to join its Loss Control team as part of the Summer 2027 Internship Program. Our company growth, combined with our focus on innovation, transformation, and investments in the customer experience are key drivers supporting the expansion of our team. The Loss Control Intern will provide support to a variety of projects and initiatives, while playing a key role in our day-to-day operations.

Western National Intern Program Summary:

Western National provides a robust internship program designed for individuals aiming to acquire valuable experience in the insurance industry. This program not only offers practical, hands-on opportunities and project work in partnership with our Loss Control team; but interns will also have the opportunity to enhance their existing skill sets through a range of professional development activities, cultivate relationships with employees and fellow interns, and participate in impactful volunteer initiatives within the community.


Position Summary:

As a Loss Control Intern in our internship program, you will be a key contributor to our Loss Control team. In this role you will be involved with the following key areas in a variety of ways.

  • Insurance Education - Meeting with department leaders to get a wholistic insurance view.
  • Loss Control Education - Supporting your continuing education through safety and Loss Control training courses.
  • Loss Control Job Training - On-the-job training with Loss Control professionals including visit preparation and onsite customer visits.
  • Supporting the Team – Various projects and assignments developing internal resources, ongoing support and research for our LC Consulting Center.

Requirements

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Pursuing a degree in insurance or occupational health and safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and problem solve.
  • Demonstrated time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work onsite at our corporate office in Edina, MN.

Compensation Overview:

The base pay offered for this position will be $20.00/hour.
