Your Opportunity

We are seeking a civil/environmental intern to support our Water business in our St. George or Salt Lake City, Utah offices. This role will support our local design staff collecting and organizing data, preparing calculations, preparing charts and graphs, modeling using Excel or hydraulic modeling software, preparing drawings, backcheck drawing/technical memoranda corrections, writing portions of technical memoranda, researching technical information, proposal and resume writing, client interactions, presentations, note taking, field investigations, coordinating production of reports, and/or support of design documents (plans and specifications). As a Student Intern, you will work in a team environment and have exposure to water resources projects which may include pipeline, conveyance, pump station, treatment, and other water infrastructure design.

The Intern must have good attention to detail. They need to possess a willingness to assist full-time staff with various tasks.  The core competencies for this position include:

  • Good communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications, and presentations
  • Positive attitude with strong relationship building skills
  • Flexibility to learn new skills.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Currently enrolled in college/university and/or on summer break between semesters. 
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA. 
  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within the team.
  • Must be willing and able to take initiative when needed.
  • Good MS Office skills including Word and Excel; PowerPoint a plus.
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D a plus.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
