About the Role

About Us

Curi Capital, founded in 2005, is a rapidly growing national registered investment advisory firm (RIA) based in Chicago. We are committed to building meaningful relationships and making a difference in our clients’ financial wellness. Our mission is focused on enriching the lives of our teammates, clients, partners, and the communities in which we live and work. Curi Capital is perennially ranked among Barron’s Top 100 Independent Registered Investment Advisors globally. Our values—Accountability, Curiosity, Teamwork, Inclusion, and Service Commitment—are at the core of our culture.

Build Real Experience in Investment Management at a Top-Ranked RIA

Our Summer Internship Program gives college students a genuine look at how investment teams research opportunities, analyze markets, and make decisions across public and private investments.

What You'll Actually Do

From day one, you'll work alongside our investment professionals, gaining hands-on experience with both our equities and alternatives teams. Rather than completing hypothetical assignments, you'll contribute to real research projects, portfolio analysis, and investment discussions that support the team's decision-making process.

Over 10 weeks, you'll:

  • Research market themes, industry sectors, and individual securities to support investment analysis.
  • Partner with portfolio managers and investment analysts on research projects, portfolio reviews, and ongoing team initiatives.
  • Prepare written research reports and presentations and share your findings with members of the investment team.
  • Assist the alternatives team with due diligence and underwriting of potential private investment opportunities.
  • Participate in investment team discussions and meetings with external fund managers to evaluate prospective investments.
  • Contribute to research projects and special assignments across the investment management division.
  • Gain exposure to both public equity investing and private market strategies, building a broader understanding of the investment landscape.

By the end of the summer, you'll have developed a deeper understanding of how investment research translates into portfolio decisions. More importantly, you'll gain practical experience analyzing opportunities, synthesizing information, and communicating investment ideas in a professional setting.

Who Thrives Here

We're looking for students who are intellectually curious, analytical, and eager to tackle complex questions. You're a strong fit if you:

  • Are pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field, with an expected graduation date of Summer 2028.
  • Have a strong academic record and demonstrated interest in financial markets and investing through coursework, student organizations, independent research, or related experiences.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of financial statements, business analysis, and investment concepts.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial and market data.
  • Enjoy digging into complex questions and developing thoughtful conclusions supported by evidence.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and in conversation.
  • Are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage priorities independently while collaborating with a team.
  • Demonstrate integrity, dependability, and respect for confidential information.
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, along with a willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
  • Demonstrate and provide examples of our values of Accountability, Curiosity, Teamwork, Inclusion, and Service Commitment.

Why Curi Capital

Unlike internships where investment management is viewed from a distance, you'll have direct exposure to the research, analysis, and decision-making processes that drive portfolio construction and investment strategy. You'll collaborate with experienced professionals across multiple investment disciplines and gain insights into both public and private markets.

Curi Capital is a place where curiosity is encouraged, questions are welcomed, and thoughtful analysis matters. At the conclusion of the internship, you'll present your work and key learnings to your mentor and firm leadership, showcasing the impact you've made throughout the summer.

If you're ready to spend your summer exploring financial markets, developing investment research skills, and contributing to meaningful work at a firm recognized among the best in the industry, we'd love to hear from you.
