We are looking for a Co-op Student, Compliance Analyst, Anti-Money Laundering Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) to join our Compliance team!
The Compliance Analyst, AMLATF will support the Compliance department’s AML/ATF program for all business units. Key responsibilities include investigating monitoring alerts and reports and executing daily screening of clients to ensure the Company effectively meets regulatory requirements and managing related process documentation and internal reporting.

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
Important Application Instructions: This role is open only to students currently enrolled in a formal co-op program through their post-secondary institution.

What you’ll do:
- Investigate due diligence monitoring alerts/reports, high risk clients, and suspicious transaction reports.
- Execute daily scanning of clients and beneficiaries against sanctions/terrorist lists and adverse media, and remediate related alerts
- Document and maintain procedures for the AML/ATF program related to trending and analysis, exception reporting, investigative processes, and applicable internal reporting.
- Support development of training on AML/ATF matters, including specialized training as required for business units and Compliance
- Handle extremely sensitive materials with the strictest confidentiality and privacy.
What you’ll bring:
- Well-developed research, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills
- Experience using spreadsheet and database software (e.g. Excel, PowerBI)
- Knowledge of life insurance and investment products would be an asset
- Experience with using or maintaining AML/ATF or similar systems, or analyzing, designing and monitoring controls would be an asset
