JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

 

Supports the engineering department by participating in the day to day activities of the group. Assignments are made for specific tasks based on the needs of the department, including data analysis, which include but aren’t limited to walk-downs, preparation of documents, engineering tasks, preparation of documents, etc. 

 

 JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 Working in a team environment to assist in day-to-day activities, including but not limited to: 

 

  • Supports the Reactor Engineering, Design Engineering, Systems & Components or Engineering Plant Support department with day to day tasks.
  • Conducts troubleshooting
  • Conducts data analysis.
  • Prepares documents, spreadsheets, presentations, interoffice correspondence and copies.
  • Conducts follow-ups in a detailed fashion.
  • Handles multiple assignments and works within deadlines.
  • Is proactive in forwarding work issues to the appropriate managers/supervisors.
  • Supports Reactor Engineering on-shift during power maneuvers.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Minimum education required of the position

 

  •  Candidates must be actively enrolled and pursuing a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree in Nuclear, Electrical, and/or Mechanical Engineering (for the duration of their internship). 
    • Seeking candidates who will be rising juniors, seniors, or beyond at the time of hire, as indicated above. 
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale), verified through an official transcript from the previous semester.

  • Some work experience beneficial but not required

  • General business and accounting knowledge
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills
  • Must be proficient in MS office tools - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong and positive team attitude and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to understand scope and objective of each assignment
  • The selected candidate must meet access authorization and fitness for duty requirements of a nuclear power station.
