About the Role

Bessemer Trust is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Management Information Systems (“FMIS”) Intern to join the FP&A team within the Finance organization. This internship provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with financial systems, data, and technology while contributing to projects that improve Finance processes, reporting, and system capabilities. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and demonstrate an interest in using technology and data to support Finance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Systems Support: Assist with the testing, and ongoing support of Finance applications and technologies, including troubleshooting issues and validating system functionality.
  • Data & Reporting: Support the collection, validation, and analysis of financial data used across Finance systems, reporting tools, and dashboard.
  • Project Management: Support Finance technology initiatives by tracking project activities, coordinating testing, documenting requirements, and monitoring key milestones and deliverables.
  • Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate workflows, and improve the use of Finance systems and data.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Assist in developing and enhancing reports, dashboards, and analytical tools that provide users with timely and accessible financial information.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Technology, and other business teams to understand requirements and support the delivery of technology solutions.

 

Qualifications:

  • Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in financial services industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts); familiarity with PowerPoint.
  • Experience with dashboarding/visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior internship or in finance/accounting is a plus, but not required.

Compensation: $40-$45 per hour depending on grade level and work experience

Our summer internship program offers real world experience working side-by-side with experts from departments and offices across our firm.  Working within your designated team, you will manage individual and group projects, interact with senior leaders, network with fellow interns, and attend a variety of career development sessions virtually and in person at our New York headquarters.  Throughout the program, you will receive ongoing coaching and guidance from your supervisor to support your development, help you navigate your responsibilities, and set you up for success.
