About the Role

Job Title

Internship: Operational Material Management (non-thesis)

Job Description

Start Date: as soon as possible

Duration: 6-12 months

Type: Internship (non-thesis)

Weekly Presence: 40h (minimum 32h)

Location: Best (3x per week)

You will join the Material Management team, part of our operational organization, working closely with other teams such as NPI, manufacturing, logistics, service, and transportation. Our focus is on ensuring efficient material inflow into the factory and supporting upstream processes. The team collaborates daily to monitor inventory, manage material processes, and drive operational excellence.

Your role:

  • Supporting material inflow and inventory monitoring activities.

  • Gathering information on issues, identifying gaps, and proposing corrective actions.

  • Assisting with Daily Management operating rhythms and weekly KPI reporting.

  • Analyzing data and trends to improve operational efficiency.

  • Participating in meetings and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

You're the right fit if:

  • You are currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Supply Chain Management, (Industrial) Engineering, or a related field.

  • You are proficient in Excel and MS Office.

  • You have a good understanding of ERP systems and material flow.

  • You have strong communication, you express collaborative and proactive attitude, and problem-solving mindset.

  • You have the ability to work with diverse stakeholders and maintain focus on operational efficiency.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata.

Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the land lord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours. Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192,- net. Paid holidays per internship term.
