About the Role

BASIC PURPOSE: The Culture & Engagement Intern provides operational, administrative, and project support for the Culture & Engagement team, assisting with employee recognition, employee engagement, culture initiatives, and Employee Connection Group (ECG) activities. The intern gains hands-on, employee-level experience helping to build a workplace where team members feel valued, connected, and engaged, while contributing to real projects that support Love’s strategic culture priorities.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES:

  • Support day-to-day operations of the Heart of Love’s employee recognition program, including recognition card and kit inventory, ordering, fulfillment, and distribution.
  • Help maintain recognition program documentation, trackers, files, and reporting materials.
  • Assist with planning, logistics, communications, and execution of employee engagement initiatives, culture-building activities, and special events.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for OneECG and associated Employee Connection Groups, including charters, rosters, meeting records, and activity tracking.
  • Draft and help distribute communications related to recognition, engagement, and ECG initiatives.
  • Track participation, feedback, and metrics; assist with reporting, dashboards, and program analysis.
  • Maintain department spreadsheets, calendars, and project plans; help track milestones, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Provide on-site support for employee programs, recognition activities, and culture events as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional partners (HR, Communications, IT, Community Relations, Operations) to support program execution.
  • Use approved AI and automation tools to draft communications, organize data, and streamline routine work while adhering to company standards for accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Psychology, Event Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: No prior experience required, but any relevant coursework or internships are a plus.

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong written and verbal communication, listening, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Extremely well organized with strong attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in ambiguous situations with resilience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Highly self-motivated with a customer-service mindset.
  • Requires prolonged sitting, with some standing, bending, and stooping during events. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
