Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) has an opening for a dynamic Structural Engineer Intern in our growing Design Engineering Services Group. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects.

Location

This position will be based out of our Lone Tree, CO office.

Responsibilities

•    Produce simple structural/bridge design calculations
•    Review and check structural/bridge design calculations
•    Analysis using structural engineering software

Qualifications

•    Pursuing a Master's degree or higher in Structural Engineering, Civil or Architectural Engineering (with Structural emphasis) from an ABET accredited college or university.
•    GPA above 3.0 preferred
•    Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel
•    Familiar with basic structural analysis software and engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MathCAD, Navisworks, SAP2000, RISA-3D etc.
•    Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done
•    Good written and verbal communication skills
•    Be willing to fully participate in job assignments at the job site, district office or department to which the intern is assigned

•    Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
•    Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
•    Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

 

Base Compensation: $20.00/hr - $25.00/hr 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
