Schroders is a global investment manager which provides active asset management, wealth management and investment solutions. Program overview:

Our 2027 Summer Internship Program runs for 9 weeks, starting on Monday, June 7th and finishing on Friday, August 6th.  This internship is designed to give you a unique introduction to the Asset Management industry and offers valuable insight into how your chosen department operates within Schroders.  We are only accepting applications from students in their Junior Year, graduating in 2028. 

 

Throughout the program you will:

  • Take part in comprehensive introductory training to build your understanding of the business
  • Be assigned to a team where you will contribute to live projects and gain meaningful hands-on experience
  • Shadow experienced professionals and learn directly from leaders in the field
  • Have opportunities to network with colleagues and other interns, helping you build connections for your future career

 

This internship provides practical experience, skill development, and a strong foundation for those interested in pursuing a career in the Asset Management sector. 

 

Who we’re looking for:

We are currently seeking an energetic, results-oriented intern to join Schroders as a member of the product group within the Sustainable Investment Team. Excellent data management and technology skills are required, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. The successful candidate will become a subject matter expert on sustainability at Schroders, developing a deep understanding of how we approach this complex and multifaceted topic

 

Required skills and capabilities:

  • A basic understanding of macroeconomic trends and investment concepts relevant to asset management.
  • A clear interest in financial markets and investing. 
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to work with large or complex numerical datasets. Excellent attention to detail. 
  • A growth mindset: a hunger to seek and receive feedback and to continuously challenge yourself to grow.
  • The ability to present ideas and insights confidently to a range of audiences.
  • The ability to approach business and investment challenges with logical thinking, using structured reasoning.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Proficiency in coding languages is a potential advantage.
  • An interest in Sustainability, ESG and Impact oriented investing

 

The team:

The Americas Sustainable Investment team is the regional extension of the global Sustainable Investment team focused on embedding Sustainability through our global investment teams and client functions. In addition to brand building efforts, the team supports with client needs relating to sustainable and impact investment across the US, Canada and Latin America, working in partnership with teams around Schroders including investment, client facing, business development, marketing, risk, legal & compliance.

 

Knowledge, experience and qualifications we’re looking for:

  • You will be in your Junior Year, graduating in 2028.  We no longer accept applications from Seniors considering further studies (i.e. Masters) upon completion of undergraduate course 
  • A good working knowledge of document production software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • The ability to understand our target audiences

Candidates should be available to start the internship on June 7th and work through August 6th, 2027.  This will be onsite in the New York City office 3x a week on a hybrid working model.  Housing not provided, but a stipend will be provided to those outside of the tristate area.
