Subsea Engineering Intern

Wood is currently searching for a talented Engineering Intern for our Subsea Team in the Houston, TX office. The Engineering Intern will assist engineers and other project personnel in developing and evaluating subsea field development projects.

This part-time internship is expected to last 10 weeks, with the successful candidate working 2 days per week. Due to the nature of the role, Wood will be considering local, qualified candidates only (Wood will not assist in relocation).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and evaluation of subsea field development concepts and system architectures.
• Support engineering studies by performing engineering calculations, data analysis, and technical assessments.
• Assist with the preparation and review of study reports, technical presentations, and engineering documentation.
• Contribute to development, technology evaluations, and trade-off studies.
• Interact with team members across multiple disciplines to ensure work is completed and issued in a timely manner and project information is effectively communicated.
• Participate in lessons learned exercises and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish good rapport and build relationships with colleagues and clients by responding to requests and communicating information in a timely manner.
• Comply with all company policies, including safety policies.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong interest in subsea engineering, offshore field development, and conceptual studies.
• Previous internship or project experience in Oil & Gas, offshore engineering, or energy-related industries is considered an asset.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and flexible environment.
• Experience with engineering software, Python programming, data analysis, or modeling tools is considered an advantage.
• A desire to learn and develop technical knowledge within the subsea engineering and conceptual studies discipline.
