Royal Credit Union was made up of just 100 Members when we were organized in April 1964 to serve the employees of Uniroyal and their families. In November of 1972, Royal was granted permission to add other employee groups to its membership and over the next two years we did just that, bringing 27 new groups into the family. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in information systems auditing, assist with technology-driven projects, and help ensure data integrity and compliance. All applicants must be located in the Eau Claire/Chippewa Valley Area & include a resume, cover letter, transcript and their anticipated graduation date when applying. If selected for the internship, you must be able to commit to the full 12 months and be enrolled at a university throughout the length of the internship. You must be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI, throughout the school year and during breaks.

What You’ll Do:


The IT Audit Internship provides experience in information systems auditing within Royal's Audit Services Department. Under the direction of the Chief Internal Auditor, the Intern will perform or assist in audits with a focus on technology, security and data integrity in accordance with professional standards along with other duties as assigned. You will also be looked at to assist in the implementation of technology driven projects within the department.

Our Commitment To You:


  • Compensation: $19.77 - 23.81 per hour (candidates with significant related experience may be higher)



What’s Needed For This Position:


  • Enrolled at a university throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in a major or minor related to Information Systems, Data Science, Data Analytics or related field.
  • Must be bondable upon hire
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused mindset
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines



What We’d Love To See:


  • Coursework in the field of Accounting
  • Experience working, volunteering, or participating on a team or club while balancing school work



Intern Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: 


  • Conducting audits focused on information systems, security, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Evaluating internal controls and prepare detailed audit reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Assisting in preparing for external audits and maintaining organized audit documentation.
  • Analyzing continuous monitoring reports and following up on previous audit recommendations.
  • Supporting departmental administrative functions and contributing to innovation and process improvements.



Work Schedule:


  • Working approximately 14-17 hours/week during the school year and 30-40 hours/week during the summer. Generally working variable hours between 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday based on class schedule.
  • Must be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center throughout the school year and during breaks.
  • This is a limited term, non-benefit eligible, position that will go from May 2027 - May 2028.
  • Must be able to commit to the 12 month internship.



Training:


  • Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment. Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
  • Foundation Training covers fundamental information about Royal’s culture and core values which sets the stage for team members to be successful within our organization.
