Title: 

Engineering Co-op - Product Development - Upper Extremity 

 

Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively searching for a student pursuing an engineering degree to support the Upper Extremity team in Naples, FL.  The Upper Extremity Engineering team is responsible for supporting new product development and sustaining engineering for upper extremity products. The successful candidate will design and test prototypes, support design control activities such as requirements management, risk management and verification and validation development and execution. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.  Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™.

 

This co-op will run from January 2027 – June 2027. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

 

Main Objective:

Assist Upper Extremity engineering with feasibility, new product development, and remediation projects, including design and documentation work.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create verification/feasibility test protocols.
  • Run, review and print tolerance analysis.
  • Assist with CAD design and/or modification.
  • Support engineering change management.
  • Perform feasibility testing.
  • Support/lead cadaveric lab work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree engineering, or a recent graduate required.  Junior or above, studying Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred.
    (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Experience with CAD (SolidWorks) preferred.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
