Title: 

Engineering Co-op - Design Quality - Post Production 

 

Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively searching for a junior or senior pursuing an engineering degree to support the Design Quality Engineering (DQE) team in Naples, FL.  The DQE team provides expertise in risk management, product quality, process control, verification & validation (V&V), and continuous improvement. DQEs incorporate quality methods and tools, including applied statistics and external standards, design experiments, develop test protocols, conduct investigations, and improve products and processes. The individual chosen for this position will assist in these activities as a part of Risk Management, Sustaining Activities, and Non-conformance Investigations. This co-op will run from January 2027 – June 2027. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

 

Main Objective:

To support Design Quality Engineers with Risk Management projects.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with updates initiated from remediation efforts across Risk Management files, specifically dFMEAs and pFMEAs.
  • Aid in performing updates with information relevant to device safety.
  • Analyze internal and external data, identifying any gaps in documentation.
  • Support Design History Files (DHF) remediation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled as a full-time senior pursuing a degree in engineering required.  Biomedical, Mechanical or Bioengineering preferred.
    (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Ability to effectively communicate, oral and written, and possess the ability to work through technical issues.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to complete tasks, as well as interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Proficiency in Excel strongly preferred.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
