Product Management Intern

INFICON is a leading provider of innovative instrumentation, critical sensor technologies, and Smart Manufacturing/Industry 4.0 software solutions that enhance productivity and quality of tools, processes, and complete factories. These analysis, measurement and control products are essential for gas leak detection in air conditioning/refrigeration and automotive manufacturing. They are vital to equipment manufacturers and end-users in the complex fabrication of semiconductors and thin film coatings for optics, flat panel displays, solar cells and industrial vacuum coating applications. Other users of our vacuum-based processes include the life sciences, research, aerospace, packaging, heat treatment, laser cutting and many other industrial processes. We also leverage our expertise in vacuum technology to provide unique, toxic chemical analysis products for emergency response, security, and environmental health and safety.

For our Vacuum Control Products Division, we are looking for a passionate Technical Product Management Intern based in Balzers, Liechtenstein. You will work closely with our Product Management and Engineering teams, supporting new product configurations, technical specifications, and market requirements for our vacuum control portfolio. This internship offers hands-on experience at the intersection of product management and engineering within a global industrial technology company.

• Support the creation of new product configurations in collaboration with the R&D and Engineering departments
• Work with R&D and engineering teams to translate market and customer requirements into technical product specifications
• Support technical feasibility assessments and design trade-off discussions for new product concepts
• Review prototypes and product development milestones alongside the engineering team
• Help define product requirement documents (PRDs) and technical roadmaps in collaboration with engineering
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support product decisions
• Analyze the product portfolio and assess its technical and strategic alignment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales, to gather insights and data

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field
• Currently pursuing, or interested in, further studies in Engineering or a related field
• Genuine interest in product management within a technical, engineering-driven environment
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with technical data and translate findings into recommendations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is required
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A proactive, positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn
• Prior experience or coursework related to product management, R&D, or engineering is a plus
• Fluent English required; German language skills are a plus
