About The Company
Metrolina Greenhouses is a family-owned, wholesale plant and se​rv​ices company that was founded in April 1972. Our Huntersville location is the largest single-site heated greenhouse in the United States at 200 acres under glass. In addition we have approximately 30 acres of outdoor growing space and are still expanding. We also have a second location in York S.C. that has 200 acres of outdoor growing space for perennials.

Position Summary

The Interview Support Intern will assist the recruiting and hiring team with the interview process from start to finish. This role is ideal for someone interested in human resources, recruiting, business administration, or people operations. The intern will help coordinate interviews, prepare candidate materials, support communication with applicants, and assist with documentation to help ensure a professional and organized candidate experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduling and confirming interviews with candidates and hiring team members.
  • Prepare interview materials.
  • Help communicate interview details, expectations, and follow-up information to applicants in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support interview preparation by organizing questions, notes, and role-specific information for hiring managers.
  • Greet candidates or assist with virtual interview check-ins, as needed.
  • Take organized notes during interviews when appropriate and maintain confidentiality of candidate information.
  • Update applicant tracking records, interview status, and candidate documentation accurately.
  • Assist with post-interview follow-up, tracking next steps, and preparing communication drafts.
  • Provide hiring recommendations based on interviews.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve the candidate experience and interview workflow.
  • Provide general administrative support to the recruiting or hiring team as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current student, recent graduate, or individual pursuing experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional, courteous, and comfortable interacting with candidates and team members.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions while working independently.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, or similar tools.
  • Interest in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, or employee support processes.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior office, customer service, administrative, or volunteer experience.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to ask thoughtful questions and receive feedback.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn hiring and interview best practices.
  • Ability to navigate Microsoft Office programs.

Schedule and Work Environment
