About the Organisation

Christchurch Engine Centre, a joint venture between Pratt & Whitney and Air New Zealand, delivers world-class maintenance, repair, and overhaul services across all IAE V2500 engine variants and is adding capability for the new PW1100G-JM engine late in 2026. Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, is globally recognised for designing, manufacturing, and servicing aircraft engines and auxiliary power units for commercial, military, and business aviation.

The role will be project based and the student will split his/her time between the Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Estimating & Invoicing teams. He/she will be guided and supervised by the CFO and respective Finance team leader.  

The role will be mainly focused on:

• Preparation for the year-end external audit by PwC – statutory account preparation & reconciliations, document preparation etc. Knowledge of statutory accounting is not essential.
• Inventory and Fixed Asset reviews
• Assist with Pratt & Whitney monthly & year-end reports.
• Review standard work for accounting & controls.
• Projects in relation to Accounts Payable analysis, taxation.
• Reviews of accounting templates & other adhoc items, such as Purchase Order files, Tax files, Statistics reporting.
