Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Landscape Forms is looking for Engineering students interested in joining our team for Summer 2027. We anticipate internship opportunities across Product Development, Design, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering, with placement based on your interests, experience, and our available openings.

As an Engineering Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience working on real projects within a design-driven manufacturing environment. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams while gaining exposure to how products are designed, developed, manufactured, tested, and improved.

Our Engineering Interns have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, learn from experienced team members, and see firsthand how products are designed, engineered, manufactured, and continuously improved.

This is an onsite internship based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Internship schedules and timing may vary depending on the specific opportunity and team needs.

How You May Contribute

• Support engineering projects related to product development, design, manufacturing, or quality.
• Assist with CAD models, engineering drawings, layouts, documentation, and other technical work.
• Participate in product development activities such as brainstorming, prototyping, testing, and product iteration.
• Support manufacturing processes, tooling, plant layouts, work instructions, time studies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with quality-related projects, testing, measurement, data collection, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving.
• Work alongside Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional partners.
• Gain exposure to materials and manufacturing processes such as metal fabrication, welding, forming, plastics, wood, castings, and assembly.
• Apply engineering principles to real-world challenges and help identify practical solutions.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate project updates, findings, and recommendations.
• Learn and apply tools and processes used by our Engineering teams while taking ownership of assigned projects.

What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Interest in one or more areas of Engineering, including Product Development, Design, Manufacturing, or Quality.
• Curiosity about how products are designed, engineered, manufactured, tested, and improved.
• Exposure to CAD software such as SolidWorks is helpful, but requirements may vary by internship opportunity.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to ask questions, learn, and explore new ideas.
• Collaborative and comfortable working with people across different teams and disciplines.
• Organized, dependable, and able to take ownership of assigned work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Hands-on mindset and an interest in applying classroom knowledge in a real-world environment.
