PGM Golf Intern

Description

Job Tasks/Duties:

•  Greets Members and Guests by their name and serves as the first contact to their day at the club, showcasing a knowledge of expected service at a private club.
•  Shows a basic understanding of daily golf shop and club operations.
•  Abides by the Club’s Policies & Procedures, as well as enforcing proper policies when applicable.
•  Works alongside other Assistant Professionals to continuously provide high-quality member services with purchases, special orders, club recommendations, and tee-time management.
•  Trains under the Professional Staff to learn standard operating procedures including and not limited to Jonas POS, EventMan Software, basic phone etiquette, and basic club repair.
•  Assists Outside Service members with daily operations when needed.
•  Teaches Junior Clinics alongside the Junior Golf Director and PGA Teaching Professional.
•  Continues to improve upon their own golf game and knowledge through a series of seminars provided by the Assistant Golf Professionals, Teaching Professional, and Head Professional.
•  Plays golf with members and their guests when applicable.
•  Coordinates junior golf activities.
•  Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Golf Professional.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

•  Current enrollment in a PGA Golf Management Program or the PGA of America’s apprenticeship program.
•  Previous club experience including time spent on an Outside Services Staff, teaching Junior Golf; private club experience is preferred.

Licenses and Special Requirements

•  PGA Associate
•  Must have a valid Driver’s License and show the ability to operate a golf cart properly
