Hennessy Automobile Companies is a leading automotive dealership group committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences and fostering a culture of growth. Our Summer Sales Internship Program is designed to provide hands-on experience in automotive sales, dealership operations, and customer service, offering an opportunity to gain insights into the automotive industry.
As a Sales Intern, you will be immersed in the dynamic world of automotive sales and dealership operations. In this 10-week paid internship, you will work alongside experienced sales professionals and mentors to develop your skills, build relationships with customers, and gain real-world experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
What you'll do:

  • Assist the sales team in engaging with customers, identifying their needs, and recommending appropriate vehicle options
  • Provide exceptional service by answering customer inquiries, conducting vehicle walkarounds, and demonstrating product features and benefits
  • Participate in training sessions and mentorship opportunities to learn sales techniques and dealership processes
  • Work closely with sales, finance, and service departments to gain an understanding of dealership operations
  • Develop an understanding of how to effectively communicate with and serve customers through various channels (walk-ins, internet, and phone)
  • Learn techniques to build trust and establish relationships with customers to ensure a seamless sales experience
  • Use the dealership’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track leads, log interactions, and maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records
  • Maintain a follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and vendors

Requirements

 Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed

  • Must be eligible to work in the US
  • Must submit to and pass a background and drug screen

Duties are performed throughout the dealer premises, both indoors and outdoors and on customer test drives. Work includes frequent movement around the company facilities and the outdoor car lot to interact with customers and other departments. 

  • Valid in-state driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Currently pursuing a degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Passion for sales, customer service, and the automotive industry
  • Self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and grow
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts will include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
