 About the Role

We are seeking an architectural intern to support the Environmental Graphic Design (EGD) aspect of our business. This role is ideal for a design-oriented, hands-on individual who is interested in the intersection of architecture, graphics, materials, and fabrication.

Working closely with our design and production teams, you will help transform EGD concepts into fully realized physical installations. You will contribute throughout the process—from exploring materials and developing assembly strategies to producing fabrication drawings, building prototypes, and supporting final implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Help develop EGD concepts into buildable, fabricated elements and installations
• Research and evaluate materials based on appearance, durability, cost, availability, and fabrication requirements
• Help determine assembly methods, sequencing, tolerances, and installation strategies
• Produce architectural and fabrication drawings, including: 
  • Plans
  • Elevations
  • Sections
  • Details
  • Assembly and installation drawings
• Create 3D models, renderings, and visualizations to communicate design intent
• Build physical and digital prototypes to test form, materiality, connections, and assembly
• Collaborate with designers, architects, fabricators, vendors, and contractors
• Assist with documenting design revisions and maintaining organized project files
• Support material samples, mockups, shop drawings, and production coordination
• Participate in hands-on fabrication and installation activities as needed

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

• Currently pursuing a degree in architecture, environmental design, industrial design, interior design, or a related field
• Strong interest in environmental graphic design, architectural fabrication, and material exploration
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and visualization software
• Ability to produce clear and accurate architectural drawings for fabrication
• Understanding of material properties, construction methods, and basic fabrication processes
• Ability to interpret design concepts and translate them into practical, buildable solutions
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
• Curious, resourceful, and comfortable learning through experimentation and prototyping

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Rhino and Grasshopper or other parametric modeling tools
• Knowledge of 3D printing and digital fabrication
• Shop, woodworking, metalworking, CNC, laser cutting, or other fabrication experience
• Experience creating mockups, prototypes, or material studies
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and architectural drawing standards
• Experience preparing files or documentation for vendors and fabricators
