Position Overview:

As we expand, we're looking for a Software Engineering Intern who is interested in solving challenging problems in Counter Unmanned Airborne Systems (C-UAS) and Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM).

Location:

Learn, innovate, and grow alongside the team! This internship is onsite in Syracuse, NY, offering hands-on R&D experience and opportunities to collaborate closely with experienced engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of software components across our full stack, leveraging AWS services, Python, Flask, and SQL databases 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and implement features 
• Improve on and expand the capabilities of our existing enterprise tools and customer facing-products, ensuring secure seamless communication and data synchronization 
• Participate in collaborative design and code reviews. 
• Document and clearly communicate designs to peers 
• Test and validate designs to ensure proper and bug free operation

Required Qualifications:

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program pursuing Computer Science or Software Engineering, or a Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer or Electrical Engineering with a strong programming background
• Completed Sophomore year or greater by Summer 2027
• A minimum grade point average of 3.4. Recent transcript is required with application (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)
• Proficiency with Python
• Experience using and developing on Linux platforms
• Understanding of SQL databases (Postgres, MySQL) and database design principles
• Familiarity with protocols like ZeroMQ, SSH, HTTP and TLS
• Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and implementation best practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Lambdas 
• Proficiency with or willingness to learn C++
• Experience with or a desire to learn about distributed sensor networks

Hourly Rate Range: The hourly rate range for this position is estimated at $23 to $26 per hour. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Hidden Level considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
