We design, manufacture, and deploy advanced sensor systems that deliver real-time insights for defense and commercial applications.

 

Position Overview:

As we expand, we're looking for a Software Engineering Intern who is interested in solving challenging problems in Counter Unmanned Airborne Systems (C-UAS) and Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM) through product development of high performance, embedded sensor software systems.

 

Location:

Learn, innovate, and grow alongside the team! This internship is onsite in Syracuse, NY, offering hands-on R&D experience and opportunities to collaborate closely with experienced engineers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of software components that advance our sensor’s ability to:
    • Detect and track new types of targets
    • Process target data with high throughput and reliable performance
    • Monitor performance and health metrics and autonomously recover from faults
    • Interact with cloud-based systems and other network components
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and implement features
  • Develop performant software and improve the existing codebase as an individual contributor
  • Participate in collaborative design and code reviews
  • Document and clearly communicate designs to peers 
  • Test and validate implementations to ensure proper and bug free operation

 

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented individuals with the capacity to think creatively to overcome technical challenges
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program pursuing Computer Science or Software Engineering, or a Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer or Electrical Engineering with a strong programming background
  • Completed Sophomore year or greater by Summer 2027
  • A minimum grade point average of 3.4. Recent transcript is required with application (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)
  • Proficiency with Python
  • Experience using and developing on Linux platforms
  • Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and implementation best practices

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with or willingness to learn C++
  • Familiarity with Radar Systems, Communication Systems, and Signal Processing

 

Hourly Rate Range: The hourly rate range for this position is estimated at $23 to $26 per hour. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Hidden Level considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
