Technical Apparel/Gear Internship | Summer 2027 | Klim & 509

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Join Teton Outfitters as a Technical Apparel/Gear Intern and contribute to products built for powersports customers. You will work alongside experienced and passionate team members on meaningful projects for the KLIM and/or 509 brands. Depending on your assignment, you may support product line management, design, development, or materials, while experiencing first-hand how technical apparel and gear move from concept to finished product.

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY 

Timeline: 12 weeks from May 2027 to August 2027

Work Schedule: 8am-5pm. 40 hours per week.  

Location: Rigby, ID. Please note that relocation assistance is available, distance requirements apply. 

Pay: Paid hourly; rate depends on experience.

The Technical Apparel/Gear Internship is designed for students who are passionate about functional apparel and gear and are eager to contribute in a collaborative, hands-on environment. During the 12-week program, you will gain exposure to multiple parts of the product creation process while building technical, business, and cross-functional skills.

Interns who are hired will be matched to their specific role and team based on intern skillset, interest, and business need. Assignments could include experiences within product line management, design, development, product engineering, materials, or production teams, focused on hard parts or soft goods. 

As a Technical Apparel/Gear Intern, you will:  

• Work on real product and business priorities that help bring technical apparel and gear from concept to market.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the design, development, and execution of apparel or hard parts projects.

• Take ownership of a defined product or project deliverable from planning through completion.

• Build visibility across the company through cross-team meetings and opportunities to share your work with leaders.

• Participate in relevant line reviews, material selection, design reviews, fittings, and other product-development activities based on your assignment.

• Build connections with fellow interns while completing a team-based Intern Challenge.

• Partner with a mentor outside your immediate team to build connections and learn from another part of the business.

• Present your projects, contributions, and key learnings at the end of the internship.

Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance and a passion to learn may be offered an additional internship or a full-time position, depending on graduation date and business need.

REQUIREMENTS 

• Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Technical Design, Fashion Design, Textile Development or a related degree, with an intended graduation date between August 2027 and May 2029

• Must be able to commit to a full 12-week internship, working 40 hours per week (May - August 2027) 

• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator

• Previous experience with Microsoft Office software tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word)

• Previous internship/co-op experience or involvement in relevant projects

• Proven strength in the following: analysis and creative problem solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership

• The drive to actively contribute to both personal and company-wide goals through creative and innovative thinking

• Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) and not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future

• Willing and able to relocate

• Must have reliable transportation for daily commuting to and from the office
