What You Do

Your responsibilities will include:

• Trading Desk Support: assist the Equities Trading Desk in day-to-day activities and gain exposure to the strategies used to generate trading performance across equity and equity derivatives products
• Market & Trading Analysis: analyse market trends, trading activity, and performance drivers to support the desk's decision-making processes
• Process Automation: identify opportunities to improve efficiency by automating business-as-usual processes using programming and analytical tools
• Financial Model Enhancement: support the development, enhancement, and automation of financial models, research templates, and analytical frameworks
• Trading Strategy Development: assist in researching, testing, and evaluating potential trading strategies using historical market data and quantitative techniques
• Data Visualisation & Analytics: build dashboards and visualisation tools that provide insights into market performance, trading activity, and portfolio risks
• Cross-Functional Exposure: collaborate with stakeholders across sales, trading, and business management teams to gain a holistic understanding of Global Markets operations
• Research & Innovation: explore new technologies, analytical methods, and market opportunities that can support trading activities and business growth
• Ad-hoc Projects: provide support on strategic initiatives, process improvement projects, and other assignments as required

Who You Work With

The Equities Derivatives team is part of Global Markets and focuses on delivering trading, risk management, and investment solutions across equity-related products. You'll work alongside experienced traders and professionals who manage market risk, develop trading strategies, and leverage technology to enhance performance. You will also gain exposure to sales teams and business support functions, providing a broad understanding of how different teams work together to deliver value to clients and the business.

Who You Are

• Proficient in VBA and Python
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Comfortable working with large datasets and analytical models
• Good understanding of statistics and data analysis concepts
• Knowledge of C# would be advantageous

• Currently pursuing a postgraduate degree
